I agree that's it's important to have a plan and we also have to remember that diets are not a one size fits all thing. I realized that with my husband. before we got married we were both dieting trying to lose weight. He talked me into trying Adkins with him. The pounds just fell off him... I on the other hand was miserable and wasn't losing a thing. But when I swtched to low fat, I was happy and the pounds were coming off then. Just gotta find what works well for each of us I guess!
