Today is turning into a rather nice day; sunny but breezy. Had the heat on in my bus but the driver window open. Go figure. Yeah I am weird.

Have any of you ever had one of those "Oh wow!" moments that just stop you in your tracks? Well I did today.

I was driving my favorite 40 ft monster through town and was running about 6 mins late because I had to go through the schedules and transfer information with a passenger. When I got to the next town; I had a mother and 2 very young girls get off the bus at the back. One girl had to have been about 3-4 and the other maybe 5-6. The little blonde 3 yr old walks up to the front of the bus with her sister and waves at me with a huge smile. I waved back and smiled. What happened next stopped my heart in it's tracks and I dont think I will ever forget it. She looked at me and said; "You're pretty." Two simple words that touched the hearts of everyone who was within earshot. I have absolutely NO clue how I didnt lose it right then and there. Everyone who either has kids or who has worked with them know that when children are very young they are very blunt to a fault. They view the world through innocent eyes and speak their minds whenever they see fit. Usually you only hear the horror stories of little kids walking up to an overweight person and uttering the obvious...usually very loudly. They dont mean anything by it; they just havent been taught to use disgression. But back to this little girl...who taught her the word pretty? Why did she feel the need to tell me? Will she still have the same graceful acceptance in her when she is 18? I sincerely hope that this little girl stays as open hearted to others as she grows up and never changes. Maybe this 3 yr old already knows what 95% of the human population doesnt...That beauty does come in all different shapes and sizes. And that beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder. Why did I have to learn that I was still beautiful no matter what current my size was...from a 3 yr old? She is wise beyond her years and I hope she never changes. I dont think she will ever know how meaningful those two little words were. But even better; she ment them.
