Great job on your weightloss! Really impressive!!! It sounds like you are doing all the right things.
I'm kind of in the same boat as your husband. I hurt my leg, and have to stay off of it for awhile. It's frustrating. I'm really trying to not use it as an excuse though. I'm really trying to not just throw in the towel, till my leg gets better. To be honest, that is really what I feel like doing. But that is a really poor attitude. And he really needs to stop weighing everyday! I weighed myself throughout the day one time, and my weight fluctuated more than 5 pounds. He'll make himself crazy if he keeps doing that. No more than once a week at exactly the same time. That will give you the most accurate results. It's probably even better to just weigh in once a month, but I would find it too hard to wait that long.
