It is not easy to be health conscious and keep up with our busy schedules! We all get cravings for something sweet and we know that most of the desserts we find at the store are filled with lost of fats and sugars. You do not have to forgo dessert entirely. There are healthy and quick desserts you can make. These won’t put the pounds on you.
1. Get sugar free angel food cake in the baker department of your local grocery store. The one that I get the slices are only 70 calories. Use sugar free chocolate syrup to drizzle on top and sprinkle with nuts.
2. Get your favorite fresh fruit and slice it up. Mix some low fat yogurt into some low fat whipped topping. Spoon over the fruit. I sprinkle cinnamon on top.
3. You can make a fat free root beer float by pouring some sugar free root bear over a scoop of low fat ice cream.
4. Scoop some fat free vanilla ice cream in a bowl. There are sugar free coffee syrups made by DaVinci and Monin. My favorite is raspberry and it is zero calories per serving. Add nuts for a healthy, delicious dessert.
5. Cappuccino with fat free milk and sugar free coffee syrup is a healthy drink for when you are out for coffee with your friends..
6. Sugar free Jello and a scoop of non fat whipped topping. I was able to get these in single serving size containers at my grocery store.
7. Take low fat cookies and spread nonfat whipped topping on them, making a sandwich. Freeze in the freezer until they are firm. A guilt free ice cream sandwich!
8. I made a parfait by taking fresh fruit and I layered it with fat free whipped topping. Sprinkle with cocoa or cinnamon and enjoy!
9. Mix together some fat free vanilla yogurt with a little bit peanut butter and brown sugar. This is great to use as a dip for fresh apple slices.
10. This is a great way to make a sorbet. Use 2 cups of strawberries, 2 cups of blueberries, 1/2 cup of sugar or splenda, a little salt and 1/2 cup of water. Throw everything into a blender. Blend until smooth. Pour mixture through a sieve. Put in a freezer safe container. Freeze 2 hours before serving.
11. You can start your day with a healthy smoothie or have it as a dessert. Start by combining fresh berries, fat free milk, yogurt and ice. Blend until ready.
12. Cut an apple into slices. Spray lightly with canola spray. Sprinkle with brown sugar. Grill until the pieces are fragrant and soft. Use non fat whipped topping or sugar free syrup over the top.
See, you can have something sweet without the guilt. You will be proud you didn’t cheat on your healthy eating plan!
