Bruce & Kimi VS Nick & Lael

Posted on 05 February 2006 by aaron_nimocks

This Wednesday is another couples edition. These two couples will face off for the $50,000. As the previews suggested this is going to be a great episode and I think also the season finale.

Which leads me to think what about the Navy wifes that they were advertising? Is there more shows to come or are they not going to air some of the ones the filmed due to “bad results”. Anyways if anyone has some information on these going to be lose episodes I would love to hear it. But hopefully I am wrong and they will be playing more soon.

Sapienzas vs Sentis

Posted on 26 January 2006 by aaron_nimocks

This week on the Biggest Loser they took two families who worked in and owned a restaurant. The red team led by Jillian were the Sapienzas who own an Italian restaurant in the Bronx called Emilia’s. The Sapienzas include three cousins Robert, Toni, and Daniela, also Alexa (14) whom is Toni’s daughter.Next we have the blue team led by Bob the Sentis who own a 50’s diner in Peoria, Illinois and a life of burgers, fries, and shakes is all they know. The blue team consists of Scott (father), Tammy (mother), Kelly (daughter), and Emily (daughter).

The first weigh in the red team was up first. Robert’s starting weight was 276, Toni’s was 213, Daniela’s weight was 163, and Alexa was 191. Their total weight was 843lbs. The blue team was up next with Scott at 265lbs, Tammy’s stating weight was 215, Kelly 211, and Emily’s starting weight was 250. The weigh in was emotional for both teams, especially when the youngest daughters on both teams weighed in and you saw their moms tear up because they felt the guilt of their daughter’s weight. Both teams were checked by doctors and they found that Emily (16) on the blue team was in danger of diabetes and could take decades off her life if she didn’t change her ways.

Bob got busy on the blue team taking them on a hike and teaching them how to eat healthy diner food, like trading turkey burgers for ground beef burgers. Of course Jillian got busy drilling the red team but also got a soft spot as she taught the team how to support eachother the way they need to be supported.

Gary Deckman from season 1 stopped by and talked to both teams about how important families are when they are going through this. He looked great and it was good to see him. Then both teams received makeovers at the ranch and they looked and felt better.

The challenge was that each team had 90 min to rack up as many miles as they could on a treadmil. Both teams were very close until Tammy on the blue team accidentaly pressed the start button twice whiched erased all their miles! They didn’t freak out and Scott got on the treadmil and really worked hard. He made up for a lot of lost time but it didn’t look like they were going to make it until right before the time was up Daniela erased the miles off the red team’s treadmil which because of that the blue team won the challenge! Their prize was that they could come back a week before the final weigh in and be trained by Bob. In my opinion that could make all the difference.

The final weigh in before they went home, the red team was up first. Toni weighed in at 204 and had lost 9lbs. Alexa weighed in at 183, she had lost 8lbs. Daniella weighed in at 152 and had lost 11lbs. Robert up last and weighed 258 which brought his weight loss to 18lbs and a team total of 46lbs at -5.46%.

Tammy from the blue team weighed in at 201 with a weight loss of 14lbs. Kelly weighed 199 and had lost 12lbs. Scott weigh in at 242 with a 23lb weight loss. Emily up last weighed 229 which made her weight loss 21lbs, and their team total at 70lbs with -7.44% weight loss. The blue team wins the first weigh in and get a vacation to a beautiful island.

Stay tuned to next week to see which team will be the biggest losers!

Steve and Sarah Win!

Posted on 18 January 2006 by aaron_nimocks

After 11 days at the ranch both couples take what they learned and head home for six months to continue this new life style in hopes of being the biggest losers. Steve and Sarah’s parents bought them their own apartment so they could have a better chance on continuing their new healthy habits.Rasha and Edwin’s place as well as Steve and Sarah’s were both stocked with everything they needed from workout equipment to healthy foods to help them on this journey. Steve and Sarah were at an advantage with the healthy eating because they had a personal chef cooking healthy dinners for them, although Edwin and Rasha kept up with making healthy choices all on their own.

In the beggining being home and only having eachother seamed to put a strain on both couples. While Steve was overbearing and bossy to Sarah, Edwin was out riding his new bike for hours leaving Rasha feeling alone during her workouts . Steve and Sarah were visiting a potential ceremony site when they received a visit from their trainer Jillian, she took them back to the gym for a good workout and had a suprise for them- Kelly from season 1! Kelly stepped in and helped train during the workout which it was great to see her again. Edwin and Rasha were shocked to get a visit from Bob while they were sampling wedding cake, they looked guilty but Bob just jumped in and shared the cake with them and then took them to the park for an intense workout. He really stressed to them that they need to support eachother and gave them tips on how to do that which really worked because they seemed to really come together in the end for those last workouts.

Final weigh in. Wow both teams looked amazing! It was obvious that both the teams had worked really hard and come along way. Edwin and Rasha’s starting weight was 477lbs. Rasha was up first, her starting weight was 237 and she lost 70lbs which brought her weight to 167! Great job Rasha! Steve was up next with a starting weight of 240 and when he stepped on that scale he weighed 177, he had lost 63lbs! Together they lost 133lbs and their percentage of weight loss was 27.88%! Up next was Steve and Sarah whom had a starting weight of 571lbs. Steve was first to weigh in with a starting weight of 274 after stepping on the scale he weighed 181, he had lost 93lbs! That is amazing! Sarah had a starting weight of 297 and when she got on that scale she weighed 220 she had lost 77lbs which made Steve and Sarah the biggest losers and they won a $50,000.00 dream wedding. Congratulations to Steve and Sarah for winning!

Weight Loss That Sticks in 2006

Posted on 15 January 2006 by BigGirlNoMore

By Melissa Black

I look ahead to the new year and what do I resolve to do
Lose weight and be healthy through and through.

Every year it’s the same, it’s come and gone
And I am always left singing the same old song.

So what is so different about this year?
What will make me do it and hold to it dear?

I’m making a plan and changing my life.
I need to do this to end the strife

This weight represents more than just overeating
It’s about all of the areas in my life that are so defeating

So here’s to a new year, and the baby steps I’ll take
To become healthy and fit, this is the new choice I will make

Gone are the days of telling myself I’m no good
And no more beating the blues by turning to food

No more watching TV with endless munching
The only sound you’ll here is carrots I’m crunching.

Too Big for the gym, that’s what I used to say,
but now you’ll see me there day after day.

So what do you want for 2006?
I know for me it’s weight loss that sticks.

Why I deserve to lose weight.

Posted on 15 January 2006 by BigGirlNoMore

One of the first things I have had to do to lose weight is change my inner dialog. I was telling myself that I was no good, that I would never lose weight, that I was ugly, that I would never accomplish the things in life that I wanted to do and that I didn’t deserve it. Well, I have changed my inner dialog and can appreciate what I see in the mirror even though I’m not where I want to be yet. Here is a challenge for you. On this post comment and tell me, but more importantly yourself why you deserve to lose weight. Then I challenge you to write down your list and post it on your bathroom mirror or the mirror you look in the most. Then on the fridge put a note that says I DESERVE THIS, so when you go to snack you will have a visual reminder. Eventually you will believe that you deserve it. I will start and then please think about this.

1. I deserve to live a long life and not die young like my Mom

2. I deserve to be able to walk in a room with confidence.

3. I deserve to be able to walk up a flight of stairs without feeling like my chest is going to cave in.

4. I deserve to walk into the Normal clothing section in the store

5. I deserve to walk with my head held high

6. I deserve to be my kids best role model

7. I deserve to feel sexy for my hubby

8. I deserve to laugh and feel happy

9. I deserve to try new things

10. I deserve it because I am pretty and I am a beautiful woman.

Please accept my challenge to write down why you deserve to lose weight. You DO DESERVE to be happy. Take care, Melissa

Steve and Sarah vs Edwin and Rasha

Posted on 11 January 2006 by aaron_nimocks

Well tonight was part 1 of 2 of the engaged couples special edition. I like the idea of splitting it up instead of what they did last week and showed it all at once. Gives the viewers more time to connect with the contestants.

Anyways, Steve and Sarah were given Jillian as their trainer and became the red team. While Rash and Edwin had Bob for the blue team. This week was another kind of “unfair” episodes where one team outweighed the other by over 100 lbs to start.

First off they started with a cake temptation. The idea was they can have the chance to win rings worth up $10,000 if they ate a piece of cake and beneath the plate contained a note saying you won. I was almost positive that Rasha was going to fall into the temptation by the look of her eyes starring at that cake. But in the end Edwin seemed to stay strong and talk some sense into her and no one went for the temptation. Personally I would have tried. :)

During the workouts it seemed that Sarah was having a really tuff time adjusting to exercise. It seemed that she was really out of shape and was getting beat up physcologically. I knew she had it in her to do it but she was letting herself think that she didnt which ended up costing her fiance to do some sprints.

On the other hand Edwin suprised me. He seems dedicated to this and it looked like he worked out the hardest than I have ever seen anyone on the show workout. But then again this is TV and their such thing as editing to make the viewers see whatever the producers want them to see. But I think that Edwin is going to do very good at the final weigh in.

The next contest was for a prize of $5,000. This one seemed like an easy one where all the other challanges atleast made the contestants sweat. For this they had to go through 10 limos and find a stack of $500 hidden in each limo then run back to the start line. This wasnt the best challange that I have seen but it was still entertaining. It came down to both engaged couples were in the last limo looking for the $500 but Steve and Sarah found the money first and ran back to the starting line and got to keep the $5,000. Congratulations! :)

Now for their 2nd weigh in since they have gotten to the ranch two weeks ago. I was guessing that the team with the most weight (Sarah & Steve) was going to win. But the red team started off first and here is the scores.

Rasha Lost 15 lbs. Down to 222 lbs. Sarah Lost 25 lbs. Down to 272 lbs.
Edwin Lost 26 lbs. Down to 214 lbs. Steve Lost 30 lbs. Down to 244 lbs.

The final weight loss percentage was Steve & Sarah with 9.63% and Rasha & Edwin with 8.6% making Steve & Sarah the winners of the weigh in and the honeymoon in Jamaica.

Next week on Wednesday the the teams will be weighed in one last time after a few months at home and the winner will walk away with $50,000.

Please feel free to leave your comments on this show! :)
