The Biggest Loser Couple Episode 10 Recap

Allison lines up the remaining 6 contestants only to announce that the 14 eliminated contestants are back to weigh in. The man and the woman who have lost the highest percentage of weight since Day 1 will get to rejoin the game. Dan, Brittney, Maggie, and Kelly make no effort to quiet their frustrations. But once again, this is the Biggest Loser and life ain’t fair. If anything it should make the remaining contenders work that much HARDER to stay in the game. The tension was broken when Jackie saw Dan’s new tattoo for the first time. To say she was shocked is putting it mildly.

The 7 women are first to weigh in:

Jenni (Green) 267-229 Lost 38 pounds 14.23%
Mallory (Brown) 217-175 Lost 42 pounds 19.35%
Amanda (White) 204-158 Lost 46 pounds 22.55%
Ali (Pink) 234-167 Lost 67 pounds 28.63%
Bette Sue (Pink) Lost 49 pounds 18.77%
Jenn (Purple) 254-206 Lost 48 pounds 18.90%
Jackie (Orange) 246-182 Lost 64 pounds 26.02%

Ali is representing the women.

Lynn (Green) 409-345 Lost 64 pounds 15.65%
Curtis (Brown) 381-281 Lost 100 pounds 26.25%
Neil (White) 317-262 Lost 55 pounds 17.35%
Trent (Gray) 436-331 Lost 105 pounds 24.08%

Episode 11.

Last week there was a cliffhanger because the show never said who was voted off. So now in week 11 we rejoin our “losers” at the elimination table. Maggie and Brittney are joined with their fellow competitors awaiting their fate. As a reminder, Dan won the previous week’s challenge and his prize allowed him to cast two votes, while the others each got one.

Dan casts his 2 votes for Maggie
Kelly votes for Brittney
Mark votes for Maggie
Ali votes for Maggie

So Maggie packs her bags and leaves the ranch to finish her journey at home. Day 1 of her journey she weighed in at 239 pounds. Upon leaving she is at 184 pounds. Currently she is at 172 pounds, for a total loss of 67 pounds. She is gaining her self confidence back, and approaching men (something she didn’t do before).

Brittney is upset over losing Bernie and Maggie. “It will force me to hang out with everyone else.” Kelly was surprised at the results of the elimination, and thought that Brittney would be voted out. At this point, Maggie was the much bigger threat and sending her packing was the obvious choice for the men. It is every man/woman for themselves at this point, although alliances are still a major factor in eliminations.

The contestants go to Macy’s thinking that they are going to have a challenge of some sort. They talk about shopping being hell because nothing ever fits. The women stick to things that don’t really have to fit, like shoes and handbags. As it turns out, they will have a challenge, but it isn’t what they think. They are going to be made over by style guru Tim Gunn and then strutting their new selves on the catwalk for Prevention Magazine. This will also be followed up with a magazine photoshoot. Tim tells the contestants that the biggest fashion goof people make is wearing clothes that don’t fit properly. VERY TRUE!!

Tim walks each contestant around and tries to get a feel for their individual styles. Some were afraid to wear certain colors because of their size, others had never worn anything directly off the rack. But folks, today is a new day. When people lose a huge amount of weight, there is sometimes a trial/denial period. You may think that something won’t fit still and you need a bigger size. Or that you still weigh what you originally weighed. But then comes a new reflection in the mirror and you can see how far you have come, that it is possible. It’s like getting to know yourself all over again, and that is what happened to the final 7 that day in Macy’s. Finally, Tim shows each contestant his or her, catwalk outfit. Many were in shock and a state of denial. As an added gift, each contestand gets to keep their reveal outfit as well as a $1,000 gift card to Macy’s.

Biggest Loser Couples: Recap

Biggest Loser Season 5 Week 3 Recap:

This week opened with Jillian and Bob talking to the remaining teams about why Curtis and Mallory were voted off. It was obvious that they were seen as the bigger threat. As Bob said; “Game on.” Team Orange was taken to their prize for being the previous week’s biggest loser team. There was a catch…They had to climb up a huge hill to get it. On top of the hill were three envelopes with one word on each. “Family,” “Luxury,” and “GamePlay.” They chose “GamePlay.” The prize was that they had two votes at the next elimination round. This prize was huge. Just because they were curious (and so were we) they opened the remaining two envelopes. The family one entitled the team to spend a full 24 hours with a loved one. The luxury one entitled the winners and one other team of their choice to have a week of free massages. I think they made the best choice. Strategy is everything in this game.

Posted on 01 January 2008 by aaron_nimocks

The Biggest Loser Season 5 Premier is tonight. I got an email from Robert today about an exclusive interview with the Biggest Loser Season 5 contestants Neill and Amanda.

Buzz around the new season of Biggest Loser continues to grow. Not only does the series celebrate its fifth season when it premieres January 1, it introduces its first couples season. Ten teams of two, made up of spouses, friends, parents and children and even perfect strangers battle it out with the scale in front of millions of people.

Diets In Review caught up with the white team, Neill and Amanda Harmer from Oklahoma City, just days before the premiere, to find out how living healthy, raising a son and even having sex have been affected by their Biggest Loser experience.

Neill and Amanda share an intoxicating sense of humor about their weight and the whirlwind experience of applying and being on the show. And while the season is just about to begin and resolution yet to be had, they stand by their determination to be the Biggest Loser at the end. Neill says no matter what happens, “you can call me a loser all day long” because it means he’s finally learned to lose weight and live healthy the right way.

The Biggest Loser Season 5 - Couple Biggest Loser

Posted on 19 December 2007 by aaron_nimocks

Wow, Season 5 is just less than a month away. We just had Biggest Loser Season 4 Finale Yesterday. Since it is couple weight loss reality show, price is $250k instead of $100k..this is great motivation. Get Healthier and great money..Good luck to all contestants. Show premiere is Jan 18th, 2008.

An all-new twist shakes up the fifth season of “The Biggest Loser,” heightening the emotion and tension in the competition. For the first time ever in the history of the show, teams of two will compete against each other rather than individuals. Nine of the ten teams – including a mother and son, husband and wife, a divorced couple, best friends, brothers and former football teammates — already have a special bond so they’re playing not only for themselves, but also for their loved one. One team, however, will be made up of two complete strangers who don’t meet until they are surprised with the news they’re being paired together.

Alison Sweeney (NBC’s “Days of our Lives”) hosts the popular weight loss series, and contestants work out under the supervision of professional trainers Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels.

The first reality series in which everybody “loses,” “The Biggest Loser” challenges and encourages overweight participants to undergo physical makeovers, without any kind of surgery, in a safe and recommended manner through comprehensive diet and exercise as they compete for a grand prize of $250,000.

The Biggest Loser Season 4 Finale Tonight.

Posted on 18 December 2007 by aaron_nimocks

From Biggest Loser Club Newletter,

The Big Reveal
Season 4 Biggest Loser Wins Tonight

Isabeau, Hollie, Bill, Julie. If you know the names, you know the story. These black-team “underdogs” have defied the odds. Initially left behind, they have emerged as the final four competitors. While they’ve endured so much as a team, only one can become the season four “Biggest Loser.”

With the live finale just hours away, the finalists are getting into their workout wear and making their final preparations before facing the scale that will determine their fate! For the first time in months, the entire group of season four competitors will be back to show off their new bodies and tell us how they made their transformations. How did Jez and the other eliminated black-team players do? What’s Jerry (the show’s oldest contestant) doing now? Has Kae kept up the pace of her record-breaking progress? Who will be the top loser of the eliminated players? Will a woman take the title this season?

Starting at 9/8c tonight, we’ll find out who’ll take the title. This finale has already made show history with only one team in the finals. Jillian rode in on her motorcycle in the season premiere to gather her team members, and she’s taken them from being the least wanted to becoming the top four finalists. As for who’ll take home the title and the $250,000 prize, we all have to tune in to find out if it’s Julie, Bill, Hollie or Isabeau.

Navy vs Marines

Posted on 15 March 2006 by aaron_nimocks

In the second episode the navy wives return home to their kids while their husbands are still deployed and the marine wives return home to both their kids and husbands. Jillian sends the marine wives out to dinner with their husbands and they are very supportive and even select healthy options for themselves as well. Bob hired a personal chef for the navy wives so that they could continue to eat healthy. The chef made cucumber appetizer, beef salad, sea bass with asparagus which totale 533 calories.

Three weeks after leaving the ranch the navy wives fly to Hawaii to be reunited with their husbands after a six month deployment. It was an emotional homecoming and the husbands were already so proud of the progress their wives had made so far.

Ten weeks after the ranch both teams begin to struggle. Tami was ashamed that she only lost a pound in a week and her son admitted that she had eaten a cheeseburger. Sharon was finding it difficult to count calories and Amber had to remind herself of Jillian in order for her to get up and exercise.

The marine wives were working out on the beach and Jillian showed up and didn’t waste any time and started working the women out right away. Jillian called Amanda out on her smoking and made her run to show her how smoking was affecting her. Jillian gave Amanda a motivational talk and she promised Jillian she would quit smoking. The girls then had a picnic with Jillian and addmitted that they were having trouble keeping up with the diet. Jillian let them know that they can’t eat more than the allowed calories otherwise the exercise and diet will cancel eachother ot and they won’t lose weight.

The navy wives are working out with their husbands on board their ship when Bob shows up. Bob works both the wives and the husbands out to show the husbands how tough their wives really are. The husbands struggled more than their ladies did. Later on both teams receive pictures of their competition which reminds them of how hard they still need to work. The navy wives head to LA to work with Bob in their final week while the marine wives stay home in Oceanside for their last chance workout.

The Final weigh in! The Navy wives and marine wives face the mirror seperating them from their competition and the the mirror is pulled away and the teams were supportive telling the others how great they looked. Dari who had gastric bypass surgery and had it fail says she finally has found the answer to weight loss. The first team to be weighed in were the navy wives. Dari started at 246lbs and weighed in at 196 losing 45 lbs. Tina was 200lbs and weighed in at 169 losing 31lb Tami started at 194 and weihed in at 157 losing 37lbs. Last Jessica started at 217 and weighed in at 179 losing 38 lbs, iving them a team total of 151 lbs and 17.72%. In order for the red team to win they had to lose 144 lbs. Sharon started at 208 and weighed 182 giving her a weight loss of 26lbs. Rosa started at 190 and weighed in at 170 losing 20lbs. Amanda was 248lbs and she weighed in at 182 giving her a weight loss of 66lbs. It was down to Amber who needed to lose 32lbs in order for them to win. Amber started at 157 and weighed in at 144 losing 13lbs and losing to the navy wives. Both teams did great and congratulations to the blue team!

Marine Wives vs Navy Wives

Posted on 08 March 2006 by aaron_nimocks

On this special edition of the biggest loser we have 8 women who lead busy lives and who have been to busy taking care of others to take care of themselves. They are also military wives. Led by Bob from San Diego, CA we have Tami, Jessica, Tina, and Dari who make up the blue team and whose husbands are in the navy. The marine wives are from Oceanside, CA and we have Amber, Amanda, Sharon, and Rosa who are being led by Jillian and are the red team. The navy wives husbands are deployed on the USS Rushmore and Bob gives them a suprise phone call letting them know their husbands are going to come home to new and improved wives. Jillian gives the marine wives a call telling them she is going to make them as kick ass as their kick ass marine husbands.

Both teams head to the ranch for the initial weigh in and the results were as follows:

Navy                                         Marines
Tami- 194lbs                Amber- 157lbs
Jessica- 217lbs               Amanda- 248lbs
Tina- 200lbs                               Sharon- 208lbs
Dari- 241lbs                               Rosa- 190lbs

The navy had a total starting weight of 852lbs and the marines had a weight of 803lbs. THe teams head back to their bungalows for the night and begin their workouts in the morning.

Bob and Jillian blow on bulhorns to get the teams out of the bungalows and into the gym for their first workout. The marines seem a lot better off than the navy wives, they were chanting and working really hard. The navy wives seemed to have trouble and DAri even brokedown because she couldn’t believe she had let herself get this way.

The first temptation was a craps table and the teams would have to roll a die and if they landed on the wrong square they would have to eat something that would add to thei thigh but if they were the first team to make it accross the board they would get a $5000.00 shopping spree. Both teams were strong and did not give in.

Bob works out the navy wives and they already seem to be improving so much. Dari was on the treadmill smiling instead of crying this time. He really inspires them and they feel Bob understands them and is a perfect fit for their team. The marine wives struggle this time more than they did the 1st workout. Amanda had just quit smoking which was taking a toll on her and she had to get off the treadmill. She broke down to her team and admitted she was afraid of failing herself and her team and they all pulled together and told her they wouldn’t let her nor would Jillian.

The challenge was that the teams had to get in a boat and row themselves to buoys that were anchored by 25lb dumbells and pull up the dumbells and once they had two in their boat they had to row back to shore and hook it to their flag to help it raise in the air. The first team to collect all their dumbells and raise their flag to the top of the pole wins a nanny for a week. During the challenge the blue team could not get it together and figure out how to work as a team. The marines were on top of it and won this challenge and the nanny. After the challenge the teams have three days to workout before the weigh in.

The winner of this weigh in win their trainer for a week before the final weigh in. That prize could really benifit either team. The marines weighed in first with Rosa who started at 190 and her current weight was 179lbs giving her a weight loss of 11lbs. Amber started at 157 and her current weight was 151 giving her a 6lb weight loss. She seemed upset that she only lost 6lb but in reality 6lbs is a lot for a girl her height. Sharon who started at 208 currently weighs 197 also losing 11lbs. Last Amanda started at 248lbs and had a weight loss of 15lbs. This gave them an overall weightloss of 43lbs and -5.35%.

The blue team had to lose at least 45lbs to win. Jessica stepped on the scale first and was shocked to see she had lost 14lbs which brought her weight from 217 to 203lbs. Tina went from 200lbs to 191lbs losing 9lbs. Tami was 194lbs and currently weighed 182 giving her a 12lb weight loss. This left it up to Dari, she had to lose 10lbs for the navy wives to win it. She started at 241 and currently weighed 225 giving her a weight loss of 16lbs and winning the weigh in for her team! The blue team lost a total of 51lbs and -5.99% and get a week with Bob. The fight isn’t over because both teams head home and take with them what they learned for three months and then will face again for one final weigh in and the chance to be the biggest losers and win $50,000.00.
