Season 3 episode 4

Posted on 12 October 2006 by aaron_nimocks

Kim enters the red teams quarters and finds the red team in a really bad mood. Kim is shocked that Nelson was gone and the team informed her that they did not do it the blue team did. Kim then tries to get the red team to channel their anger by working out but they fight her all the way. They refuse to work out and Kim breaks down feeling that she has lost control of her team. Over on the cheery blue team side Bob is excited that the blue team was able to get rid of Nelson because he is such a threat.

The temptation was both teams were had to eat food that was on a plate and then take the plate and stack them up and whoevers plate was on top when the buzzer sounded won immunity. Some of the food was healthy and some was not. Both teams participated and the red team was chowing down while the blue team were taking their time hoping to catch the buzzer with only having to eat the healthy food. Wylie really wanted it because he knows he is on the chopping block. However, in the end Kai won immunity.

The challenge was both teams were going to walk up an escalator and the last two team members standing from the winning team get to split $10,000 and the winning team get to choose who sits out for the blue teams weigh in. It is a close race and it comes down to Marty for the blue team and Pam for the red team and finally Marty quits and the red team wins their fourth challenge in a row.

At the final weigh in the red team choose marty to sit out which turned out to be an ok choice because he lost 7 lbs. Brian was up next and he lost a suprising 9 lbs even with his injury which shocked everyone. Everyone else on the blue team turned out poor numbers, Melinda only lost 2 lbs. All together they lost 26lbs and 1.92%. The red team needed to lose 24 lbs which was roughly 5 lbs per team mate and it was crazy because everyone lost exactly 5lbs each until they got to Ken who lost 10 lbs winning the weigh in for the red team.

The blue team sadly let Melinda go because she was the smallest and she would hurt their percentage. It was sad to see Melinda go but it was nice to have a heartfelt elimination unlike the red teams angry elimination last week.

episode 4

Posted on 05 October 2006 by aaron_nimocks

This week Bob and Kim want to teach the two teams that just because you are going on vacation doesn’t give you an excuse to take a vacation from your diet. So they are taking the teams on a cruise, on a princess cruise ship. They work out their teams in the gym and in the pool, Bob says he gets his workouts done in the gym in the morning and then he can go enjoy the cruise ship the rest of the day.

After the workout the two teams are then taken to a buffet, which buffets are very popular just about any vacation you take. Bob teaches the blue team to look at their options first and plan out what they are going to have. If you just go for it you are going to eat way more than you should but if you take time to weigh your options you will be a lot better off. Kim tells her team to go grilled or broiled but not sauteed.

The challenge is that both teams are going to take place of waiters and deliver dinners to the guests, what they don’t know is the guest are their family members. The race was close, Marty was shocked to see his wife and when he told the others on the blue team and Melinda started to cry. This was a challenge both teams wanted to win because they knew the prize would be to spend time with them. Bobby got lost on the way and caused the blue team some time. Then Heather couldn’t find her husband for the red team and was freaking out yelling I need a signature throughout the boat. In the end Pam won it for the red team and they got to spend the rest of the night with their loved ones. The blue team were very sad about losin but Bob made them work out instead of sit around being depressed.

The final weigh in the blue team went to weigh in first. Brian who hurt his knee and can not compete in challenges was hoping for a good weight loss to get the target off his back. Brian lost 7lbs, Amy was up next and lost 9lbs. The rest of the team were as follows: Bobby lost 9, Marty lost 8, Erik lost 11lbs, and Melinda who was very nervous lost 10lbs. Together they lost 53lbs at 3.07%. The red team weren’t pulling very big numbers their team went as follows: Pam lost 5lbs, Wylie lost 6, Heather lost 5, Kai 5lbs, Nelson 5lbs, and Ken a wopping 3lbs. Together their total was 29lbs when they needed 50 to win and 1.77% making the blue team the winners!

The red team were divided men versus women and they voted that way causing a tie. Te blue team then got to pick anyone to be eliminated and to their advantage they picked Nelson.

Season 3 episode 2

Posted on 28 September 2006 by aaron_nimocks

In the beggining of tonight’s two hour episode the two teams discussed how hard it was to vote off Jen even though they didn’t like her. The red team hopes now that they can be as close to eachother like the blue team. The blue team was definitely feeling good about themselves for being so tight and working together they felt they had the advantage over the red team.

Ken from Washington got a phone call saying his son was in CCU. He had some complications from a surgery and Ken broke down. Ken was in tears and he discussed the situation with Kim and made the decision to stay at the ranch.

Kim and Bob tell their individual teams they are taking them to the beach for the week to work out. Kim’s team, the red team, all go silent because they don’t want to go to the beach. When Bob tells his team they get excited and are ready to go. They go outside and there are old time ford mustang convertibles waiting for them. They get inside and some can barely fit the cars are so small. Once at the beach the teams struggle to work out in the sand. It’s a lot harder to work out in the sand than they thought.

The first temptation they walk up to 26 sand castles and underneath each one there is either a piece of chocalate worth 175 calories, a carot stick worth 30 calories, or immunity. Both teams contemplate it especially Pam from the red team who feels like if she were to go home right now she might not continue. The blue team keep Bob in mind and Bob said you play you pay. Both teams resisted temptation and went back to the trainers who were proud and they had a barbeque on the beach with healthy turkey burgers and salads.

The challenge was both teams had to build sand high enough to reach their flag wich was hanging from a pole. It was a tough challenge and a close race and Wylie got hurt when Nelson jumped to reach the flag and fell on his neck. The game paused for a minute until Wylie said he was ok then it was back on both teams raced to pile the sand high enough for a team member to grab the flag, in the end the red team won. Their prize was a care package from home where they found pictures and letters and other things from their families.

The teams went back to the ranch for their final workout, the blue team really were working hard all week and felt that they had this in the bag. The red team who had their ups and downs didn’t know what to expect. Sometimes the red team would work against Kim like during the yoga workout but their punishment was to work harder. Some of the red team were envious of the relationship the blue team had with Bob, but was that because the blue team worked really well together and worked extremely hard for Bob?

At the final weigh in the red team chose Erik to sit out the weigh in because they felt he had lost the most weight this week. It was a good choice because he had lost 16lbs. All together the blue team lost 35 lbs at 3.34% weight loss. The red team needed 57lbs to win and they did more than that losing 79lbs. The blue team had to go in for their first elimination and they decided they were going to choose who they thought was the strongest and would definitely continue losing weight at home. They chose Tiffany from Texas. It was a touching elimination, no one had any bad words to say about anyone it was only because she showed strength that they eliminated her.

Season 3 Premier!

Posted on 20 September 2006 by aaron_nimocks

The moment we have all been waiting for is finally here! A lot of changes this season, the first being a trainer. No Jillian this season but we said hello to Kim Lyons a fitness trainer who has been physically active her whole life. Her style is to make fitness fun and achievable to everyone. This season they took someone from every state and brought them out to the ranch only to find out that only 14 of them were staying at the ranch and Bob and Kim were picking their own teams. The other 36 contestants were going home to represent their state by working out with what they learned and the top girl and guy are coming back to the ranch with the chance to be the biggest loser.

The teams staying were as follows:

Blue- Amy, MAÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Red- Heather, UT

        Bobby, TN                                       Jennifer, MI

        Brian, CA                                         Kai, AK

       Erik, NY                                           Ken, WA

        Marty, MO                                        Nelson, MA

       Melinda, Al                                       Pam, IN

       Tiffany, TX                                      Wylie, FL

Bob and Kim started the two teams off by having them sleep in the gym as if to say you will be living in the house but the gym will be your home. Then as soon as they woke up it was workout time. They worked them out hard, several members of Bob’s team were puking. The first challenge was very close but the red team won, their prize was to switch a member of their team with a member of the blue team for the final weigh in. THe blue team was upset they lost the challenge and were cooking dinner when Bob stopped them and said they need to go work out first. His point was most overweight people are emotional eaters so because they were upset he wanted them to comfort themselves in a positive way by working out instead of eating.

THe final weigh in the red team chose Amy to switch with Jennifer. Amy lost 16lbs for the weigh in after it was all done the red team had lost a total of 98 lbs and 4.75% weight loss. Jennifer lost 8 lbs and it was looking like the red team was going to win with only two people left to weigh in they needed to lose 37lbs between the two of them which they did losing a team total of 108lbs and 5.05%.

Back at the ranch it was pretty clear who the red team were chosing for elimination. Jennifer had just not cut it during the first week at the ranch. She would take breaks and wouldn’t push herself like the others were doing and in the end she was the first to be eliminated.

Underwater Treadmill

Posted on 18 June 2006 by Pyx0

I heard from a friend of mine that this seasons Biggest Loser will be using a new kind of pool that is an underwater treadmill. I read alot about this in a few university storys awhile ago. The only exsisting underwater treadmill is created by a company called Hydroworx. I googled them and found their site (www.Hydroworx.com) They are a company located out in central Pennsylvania. They make two kinds of underwater treadmills, the 1000 and 2000. Seems like the 1000 series is for a single person while the 2000 is for about 2 or mabye 3 peeple at a time. I would be guessing that this seasons biggest loser will be using a 2000 due to the weight of the people and if they choose to add more then one person. I don’t know anything else but I’m quite certain due to a friend of mine who works at nbc told me this info.

Kim Lyons replaces Jillian

Posted on 18 June 2006 by aaron_nimocks

Well I personally dont really want the show to change at all but it is going to. Starting with season 3 Kim Lyons will now team up with Bob on The Biggest Loser. I think I am going to miss Jillian and the way she motivated people. Some dont like her because she was too hard on everyone but thats why I like her. :)

Anyone sad to see Jillian go?

Matt & Suzy on Passions

Posted on 13 March 2006 by aaron_nimocks

NBC’s popular daytime drama “Passions” welcomes “The Biggest Loser” couple Matt Hoover (Season 2 winner) and Suzy Preston (Season 2 finalist) as they make their acting debut Thursday, March 16 (2 p.m. ET on most NBC stations, check local listings).

Hoover and Preston, who taped their scenes on the “Passions” set in Studio City, California on Friday, February 3, portray a romantic couple hopelessly in love and enjoying an evening stroll through Harmony. The pair shares a loving exchange and kiss during their guest star appearance.

Hoover and Preston kindled their relationship while filming Season 2 of NBC’s hit weight-loss series “The Biggest Loser,” which he went on to win and she placed 3rd. It was during a moment when Preston cut Hoover’s hair that viewers caught a glimpse of a budding romance. Their long-distance relationship has kept them apart for only a few weeks at a time since “The Biggest Loser” finale in November, as they have been busy on various promotional events for the show. Hoover is now a full-time motivational speaker and Preston continues to style hair.
