Season 3 episode 6

Posted on 26 October 2006 by aaron_nimocks

The two teams were given a quiz, a calorie counting quiz. They had to guess how many calories were in things like a burger and fries, a plate of fried chicken cole slaw and a biscuit. The winning team got to pick two members to have no trainer for 72 hours and two members to have to eat out for 72 hours. The red team killed this challenge, they came close on everything while the blue team were way off. They picked Marty and Brian to have to eat out, and Erik and Bobby to have no trainer. A very wise decision by the red team, Bob was upset and told Erik he was screwed and Erik feeling like Bob had no faith in him told him to let him prove him wrong.

Erik and Bobby were working out in the gym at the same time as Brian and Marty but they were being completely ignored by Bob. Then Marty and Brian were having trouble ordering out, the special order they made came back wrong and Bob told them in the real world that is not how they ordered it and they need to send it back.

The physical challenge this week was on team member was to be in a harness while the other team members ran to get the flag and passed it off to the harnessed team member and then lifted that team member to place the flag on a pole, the first team to place all their flags win and the winning team got to pick either a healthy dinner at a fancy hotel or an intense workout in the pool of the hotel plus they got to choose which red team member sat out at the weigh in. The blue team got their second victory and chose to eat while the red team worked out in front of them in the pool.

The doctor stopped by to chat with the contestants, a lot of them had lowered their colestrol and some were out of risk for diabetes. Bobby didn’t need medication for blood pressure or diabetes anymore and Erik was doing really well and the doctor urged him to stay away from anything that would make him go back to cigerettes when he got home. The 72 hours were up and Bob was so excited he went right to work on Erik and Bobby, Marty said he was going to miss the take out food.

At the weigh in the blue team chose Ken to sit out, he lost 11lbs for his team. The red team continued to pull out fairly big numbers, they lost a total of 29lbs at 3.26%. The blue team had to loose more than 38 lbs to beat the red team, Bobby was up first and he lost 13lbs. Brian lost another 9lbs, then Marty lost 15 which left it up to Erik to only have to loose 2lbs and he lost 16! The blue team won the weigh in and you knew either Ken or wylie were going home. In the end it was Ken who said goodbye.

The teams arrive at the gym to find a padlock on the gym door and a sign saying the gym is closed. Some of the contestants were trying to go through the window just as Bob and Kim arrived to tell them nope you got to go back to the house, no working out at the gym this week. The blue team had to workout outside and Bob instructed Amy that if she wanted to stick around she had to work out like a man and that is exactly what Amy did. Kim worked out the red team in the house on the stairs and of course they complained and cried a little about it.Both teams were taken to lunch to learn how to customize their order when eating out. They needed to learn they could ask for food anyway they wanted, it didnt have to be whats on the menu.

The challenge was at the Los Angeles Coliseum and since it was going to be the hardest challenge both teams got messages from home. The teams had to complete a a series of 510 waves across the stadium. The winner received $2500 in Starter workout gear. Bob and Kim were in this challenge pushing their teams. The red team was ahead and looked like they would go strong especially because Erik on the blue team was having troubles but Ken on the red team gave up and couldn’t go anymore so the blue team won. The red team especially Pam were very upset that they practically handed the blue team this win. The blue team were no longer offers ( 0 for 4). After the challenge the teams headed back to the house where Devin Alexander showed them how to cook healthy pizzas and burgers that looked delicious and were good for you. The team members were happy because this was realistic food, something different from plain chicken and fish.

At the weigh in the red team was up first, not very high numbers this week they only lost 26lbs at 2.14%. The blue team needed to lose 30lbs to win the weigh in but came up short by 3 lbs and lost the weigh in. Back at the ranch Bobby and Amy were discussing who they should send home, Amy was leaning towards Erik and Bobby wanted to vote off Marty because he felt he was a threat. However, in the end it seemed there was an aliance formed between Brian, Erik, and Bobby and Amy was eliminated. Amy felt blindsighted and told her team it didn’t make any sense and was not going to help them.

Season 3 episode 4

Kim enters the red teams quarters and finds the red team in a really bad mood. Kim is shocked that Nelson was gone and the team informed her that they did not do it the blue team did. Kim then tries to get the red team to channel their anger by working out but they fight her all the way. They refuse to work out and Kim breaks down feeling that she has lost control of her team. Over on the cheery blue team side Bob is excited that the blue team was able to get rid of Nelson because he is such a threat.

The temptation was both teams were had to eat food that was on a plate and then take the plate and stack them up and whoevers plate was on top when the buzzer sounded won immunity. Some of the food was healthy and some was not. Both teams participated and the red team was chowing down while the blue team were taking their time hoping to catch the buzzer with only having to eat the healthy food. Wylie really wanted it because he knows he is on the chopping block. However, in the end Kai won immunity.

The challenge was both teams were going to walk up an escalator and the last two team members standing from the winning team get to split $10,000 and the winning team get to choose who sits out for the blue teams weigh in. It is a close race and it comes down to Marty for the blue team and Pam for the red team and finally Marty quits and the red team wins their fourth challenge in a row.

At the final weigh in the red team choose marty to sit out which turned out to be an ok choice because he lost 7 lbs. Brian was up next and he lost a suprising 9 lbs even with his injury which shocked everyone. Everyone else on the blue team turned out poor numbers, Melinda only lost 2 lbs. All together they lost 26lbs and 1.92%. The red team needed to lose 24 lbs which was roughly 5 lbs per team mate and it was crazy because everyone lost exactly 5lbs each until they got to Ken who lost 10 lbs winning the weigh in for the red team.

The blue team sadly let Melinda go because she was the smallest and she would hurt their percentage. It was sad to see Melinda go but it was nice to have a heartfelt elimination unlike the red teams angry elimination last week.

This week Bob and Kim want to teach the two teams that just because you are going on vacation doesn’t give you an excuse to take a vacation from your diet. So they are taking the teams on a cruise, on a princess cruise ship. They work out their teams in the gym and in the pool, Bob says he gets his workouts done in the gym in the morning and then he can go enjoy the cruise ship the rest of the day.

After the workout the two teams are then taken to a buffet, which buffets are very popular just about any vacation you take. Bob teaches the blue team to look at their options first and plan out what they are going to have. If you just go for it you are going to eat way more than you should but if you take time to weigh your options you will be a lot better off. Kim tells her team to go grilled or broiled but not sauteed.

The challenge is that both teams are going to take place of waiters and deliver dinners to the guests, what they don’t know is the guest are their family members. The race was close, Marty was shocked to see his wife and when he told the others on the blue team and Melinda started to cry. This was a challenge both teams wanted to win because they knew the prize would be to spend time with them. Bobby got lost on the way and caused the blue team some time. Then Heather couldn’t find her husband for the red team and was freaking out yelling I need a signature throughout the boat. In the end Pam won it for the red team and they got to spend the rest of the night with their loved ones. The blue team were very sad about losin but Bob made them work out instead of sit around being depressed.

The final weigh in the blue team went to weigh in first. Brian who hurt his knee and can not compete in challenges was hoping for a good weight loss to get the target off his back. Brian lost 7lbs, Amy was up next and lost 9lbs. The rest of the team were as follows: Bobby lost 9, Marty lost 8, Erik lost 11lbs, and Melinda who was very nervous lost 10lbs. Together they lost 53lbs at 3.07%. The red team weren’t pulling very big numbers their team went as follows: Pam lost 5lbs, Wylie lost 6, Heather lost 5, Kai 5lbs, Nelson 5lbs, and Ken a wopping 3lbs. Together their total was 29lbs when they needed 50 to win and 1.77% making the blue team the winners!

The red team were divided men versus women and they voted that way causing a tie. Te blue team then got to pick anyone to be eliminated and to their advantage they picked Nelson.
